Hi, my mother have aged around 65 years having some breathing issue from past 2 months. i have done the CECT test and findings of reports are as follows: Small fobrotic band in apical segment of right lower lobe Bilateral small pleural effusion mild cardimegaly. can you let me know what does means of thes efindings.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM I will in a few words make you under the results of the scan. -Small fibrotic band means a small band of scarring tissue which is common with most lung diseases -A small pleural effusion means small fluid in the pleural cavity. -Mild cardiomegaly means a slight increase in size of the heart. I will suggest you see a lung expert(Pneumologist) for evaluation and investigation on the nature of the fluid in the pleural cavity and the probable cause.Her breathing issues will best be handled by treating the cause of the pleural effusion.
